Ninja Warriors

We have one TV in our house.  No Nintendos, Xboxes, iPads, Tablets, or whatever it is kids are playing these days.   The main reason for no electronics is that I say 'no' all day long and I just don't want to have to deal with something else to say no about.  And Charlie would be addicted.  So one TV, meaning everyone has to agree on what show to watch.  These days they are all about Blaze and The Monster Machines and have just discovered Diego.  But American Ninja Warrior usually wins out.  Everyone is obsessed.  We have taped all of them and they will watch them over and over.  We are going to enter dad in for next year's competition…I mean it is in Vegas, and we know he loves Vegas.

Warrior On!

soccer!

Finally it is Nash's turn for soccer!!  He is doing the 'Friday only' through Rainbow Soccer.  So far, so good!  I think the Tarheel blue jerseys really helped.  I knew he would love every minute of it or have a freak attack and walk off the field and cry later because he didn't get to play soccer.  I don't get it, but I am learning to go with it, hold my breath and pray for the best.  He has really started having his own little personality now that his 'best buddy bud Jacksy' is at school during the day.  He likes being the 'big brother' at home and in the 3's class at his own school.  I am a proud mama.  It has been good for all of us.

Ha!

For lack of brain power, I give you this, pretty much sums it up.

Why won't you sleep? Is it your teeth?

Best Date

We headed to Beaufort this past Saturday for a beautiful wedding.  We drove 3 hours in the car and talked, sat through the wedding, talked to others at the reception, ate and drank our own food and even went out for a drink afterwards, just the two of us.  I missed my boys but not enough to bring them along next time either.  Grandparents r-o-c-k.

The best date. Always.

And My Father Smiled

My good friend Quanta created 'And My Father Smiled.'  The purpose of this social initiative is to inspire fathers to engage and nurture their children.  He asked if he could interview Charlie and the boys about what they thought about each other.  Much to no ones surprise the 5, 3, and 1 year old were not interested but Charlie rocked it.  He makes his boys and so many others smile every single day.

Napster

If you can, please zoom in on that orange bean bag back there.  Not Dora, the other guy.  Theo.  Just taking a nap during his pre-school morning waiting for his mom to pick him up…
Shaking my head.

Fireflies!

Jackson is on his first real soccer team.  Two practices a week and games on Saturday, a little much if you ask me but I am not the coach.  I think he does it for the possibility of a post game Gatorade and snack.  I spend my time chasing his brothers off of other fields and out of the parking lot.  I hope he enjoys it and look forward to actually watching my grown boy one day soon!

Post game (they won!) chat.

Fastest I saw him run.

Serious.

Serious about donuts.

stitches!

We had our first trip to Immediate Care for stitches last night, and I am pretty sure it won't be the last.  Nash took a fall at the pool and slashed his knuckle.  Sometimes he can be a little dramatic so I didn't really worry about it but it would not stop bleeding.  Thankfully a doctor friend was there and advised a quick trip to get it checked out.  Veryveryvery thankful dad was also there and could take Nash.  He said he was the bravest boy he had ever seen and promised him Menchies.  He got two stitches and has to wear a bandage like a real Ninja Warrior.  I think he is starting to like it.

Squeezing dads hand and not looking!

My BRAVE ninja warrior.

Ninja Warriors

We went to Defy Gravity with the Carinci Family this past weekend.  The kids loved it, almost as much as their dad.  But seriously check out Ninja Warrior daddy.  He may need a permit for those guns.

Jordan Lake

We closed out the long Labor Day weekend with a trip to Jordan Lake on Monday.  It takes us about 15 minutes to get there but we never go?!  We rented a cheap pontoon boat with some neighbors and had the best afternoon.  I can see a lot of this in our future.

Handsome drivers.

This doesn't happen much, I loved it.

Family swim time.

TIRED BOYS! Nash really needs to work on his tan.

School is back in session

Everyone went to school this morning!  Jackson and Nash were excited, Theo, not so much, but they didn't call me to come pick him up early.  Score.  Praise these pre-school teachers, I have no idea how you do it.
Jackson carpools with some neighbors and today was my turn to drive.  We filled up the Suburban with 7 chillins and hit the road for drop-offs.  One hour later I was back at home and it was quiet.  Except for Greta, she knows what is up, no one home means you need to get your butt in gear and take my for a walk mom!  Cheers to the new school year.

Wait a minute? I am going too?  And you aren't staying?  Oh you are gonna stay mom, I'll make sure of that..

Group shot!  Crushed it.

Sleepover!

We had a sleepover at our house this weekend.  Big (patient, helpful, patient, sweet, did I say patient) cousins only!  My boys are obsessed with these two and love to do whatever they say, eat whatever they eat, sleep wherever they sleep, etc. etc.  I am going to start paying them to pass along a few rules.

Late night 'campfire' stories.

Durham Bulls!

I have a major crush of Durham.  Check out that sky.

FOOTBALL

Nash dominated preschool yesterday, making this mama so proud!  And then I got to inform him that it was officially football season and the tar heels were on tv that night!  He watched and cheered intently and informed me that when he turns 5 he doesn't want to go to California, he wants to go to Charlotte with just dad to the tar heels opening football game.  Done and done.  You got 2 season to get your act together heels!

3's Class!

Watch out 3's Class, Nash is coming for ya!  He was super excited to start pre-school today and walked right in, no problem!!  He has been waiting for this day ever since Jackson started school.  He has definitely missed his big brother this past week but holy cow he has been such a better kid.  He needs some one-on-one time and to be able to be a 3 year old.    He will go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings along with Theo.  This will be the first 2.5 hours of Rebekah time that I have had in 5 1/2 years.  You should see the lists I have made.  I might even make it to the dentist.  :)
