Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We went to my grandparents house in Goldsboro just as I did when I was a little girl.  So many people made the trek and we were able to meet new cousins and do some serious playing.  I am hoping someone took pictures and will send them to me.  Hint Hint.  Until then here is the sweetest video of my Jackson and my Papa.

These are the days.

My sweet little nugget is just perfect.  He also got his first cold and his first hair cut.  Roughest week yet!

Turkey Prep

It is cold and rainy around here.  A perfect day to pull out every single toy in the house and do a little cooking.  I am thankful that no one is coming to our house for lunch tomorrow and thankful that we get to bring the mac & cheese and cookies.  My kids don't like mac & cheese (for real??!) so I jump at any chance to make it.  My kids love cookies (for real??!) so we all jump at any chance to make some.

My grocery store buddy.  This dude loves to run errands with his mom.  He is the sample king.

four AND A HALF!

We have a four and a half year old in our house!  Obviously we celebrated with donuts and lots of reminders of how you are supposed to act when you are four and a half… (even if you didn't start it or didn't hear me or don't care)

They really are that good.

Basketball!

Since we live in Chapel Hill and love sports and the tar heels, one would naturally assume we go to some Men's Basketball games.  But it is already cold outside, we have 3 babes, no parking pass, no tickets and no desire to stay in our seat for longer than 5 minutes at a time.  We have found the solution.    Women's basketball games!  Cheaper, sit where you want (ahmm, right behind the Men's team, they tall!), watch some good basketball, and half off concessions.  Go Tar Heels!

Ramses!  Thankfully Nash was walking around with Dad and Theo was fast asleep when he decided to sneak up.

GOO TAHH HEELS GO! GOO TAHH HEELS GO! GO TAHH HEELS GO!

Oh, and I made it on the jumbotron.  Finally.  Finally! FINALLY! And we clearly see where Jackson gets his dance moves from.

6 months!

Someone turned half a year old today.  How quick was that?  In full out chaotic house celebration mode I let you roll off the couch.  I still feel guilty about it so maybe if I post it for the whole wide world to read (ok 7 family members) then they will tell me they did the same thing and it happens to the best of us.  But you only cried for a minute as your big brothers tried to make you laugh by screaming 'BOOO BOOO BOOO' in your face.  And really, I can't believe it hasn't happened before now.  So at 6 months, you like to roll and roll and roll and put every thing you can get your hands on in your mouth.  You like to eat from a spoon but would rather hold it yourself and gnaw on the handle.   You still love mama milk and eat about every 3 hours.  You are a pretty good sleeper at night, usually getting up once.  I think you would love to nap if we would ever let you.  And you smile.  You smile anytime someone acknowledges you.  It is so much fun to show you off.  Thanks for being the best baby Theo we could ever ask for.

Ahmm, you know I am gonna eat this?

Just kidding mom! Hurry take a picture, here comes Nash!

See, I told ya.  Creeper.

But for real, are you gonna let him be in my picture?

Ok, ok, how's this? Milk!!

hair

I just wanted to document this hair flow.  I am afraid I may have to trim it just a little so he can see.  Or put a clip in it.  But, people pay big bucks for this kind of cut.

Side swoop mullet mo-hawk.

 Hey, what you doing mom?

deep thoughts with Jackson

'Hey mom are you going to be anything besides a mom?'
'That's a good question.  I think about it daily.'
'Well maybe when you keep growing you can be like one of those volleyball players.'
'Ha, well I am not going to get any taller.'
'Oh, well why do you still eat broccoli then?'

Veteran's Day

To those who serve, thank-you!  Thank-you for giving me and my boys this day and every day of freedom. We enjoyed it with a trip to Marbles Museum.  That place is awesome.  Buy your gonna need that extra cup of coffee and a Tat-Tat to meet you there.

Fresh cuts! Except for Theo, the one who really needs it, but I just can't do it.

Captain Nash.

Ohhh you think this is sooo heavy, well it's not!

All hail Theo.

Tat! Look at this Tat! Tat!

thankful

While rushing out the door this morning I notice a paper feather in Nash's pre-school bag.  I forgot we are supposed to list something that Nash is thankful for.

'Nash! What are you thankful for?  We can write it on your feather.'
'Running around.'
'Oh yeah, that is a good one. Anything else?'
'Dookie-ing in the potty.'

Preach it. Me too big boy. Me too.

Taking in a TAR-HEELS volleyball game and some popcorn all in his Sunday best.

Family Pictures

The fabulous Anna Routh Barzin agreed to take some family pictures of us on campus last week.  I bribed the boys with going to a new playground and Krispy Kreme donuts.  They lasted a good 8 minutes. I was impressed.  I told Anna if she got one single decent picture of just one of my children then I would be thrilled.  Check out these pictures! Be still my heart.

chores

We started a 'chore chart' with Jackson this past week.  His chores are really hard things like 'getting dressed,' 'helping Theo with his paci,' 'feed Greta,' etc.  He is loving it and so am I.  If he got 20 stickers he got to pick something fun to do, keeping it simple he said 'go to the park.'  Since we do this every day, I did not argue with him but instead we went to the 'cool' park.  Next up on his list is a football game and then Kanki!  I might sneak him some extra stickers on there for Kanki.  :)

'Dookie, dookie, dookie, dookie, dookie…'
'Jackson, stop saying that right now.'
'I am just trying to get all my dookie talk out before we get to lunch.  Sometimes it is just so hard to remember.'
'Fair enough.'
