Durham Bulls

The weather has been super rainy and wonky around here, but for better or worse that has not cancelled any of our baseball activities!  We have had some good games and some fun times at the Durham Bulls!
Jackson's team got to walk out on the field with the team!  They are also sponsored by Mellow Mushroom so we got to eat there before the game.  Funny story, Theo thinks you get to eat or do whatever sponsors your team.  Jackson's is Mellow Mushroom, Nash's is Jersey Mike's (holla!) and Theo's is a Vet clinic.  He keeps asking when does his team go to look at the animals.  Jackson said, atleast it's not State Farm.  ;)

Speaking of.  He is still not too fond of actual mascots but we was all about sitting with the fake Wool E. Bull. 'Take my picture and send it to Brooklyn.  She loves dis guy.'

Girlfriend - working the stairs, scouring for peanut shells and licking polls.  Immune system gonna be top notch one day.

Go Bulls! Go Rockies!  J got to go out with the pitcher! He was pumped.

The next morning I got to go back with Nash's Kindergarten class.  It was all fun and games until the downpour hit.

My boooyyyy and me, sporting my N for Nash hat.  I am a little embarrassed of my own self, moming so hard.

And who didn't want to ride the bus back to school but instead wait out the rain delay and sit right behind home plate.  This guy.  Baseball for life - and an Icee and a funnel cake.  Don't tell the others. It was a really great morning my Nashy.

truth

They are obsessed with each other.  The love / hate relationship of a brother is strong with these two.  I hope it last forever.

1 Year Stats (and a big bro head check)

23 lbs. 2 oz. - 89%
29.53 in. - 63%
19.59 head - >99%

Winnie Lou had her 1 year check up and is looking good.  Her ear infection and lingering cough were all cleared up (for now) and she was able to get 3 shots, boohoo...  She is a growing girl -  digging the whole milk - and big as ever.  Jackson got to come along for the appointment because I wanted the doctor to check out his head.  PSA - make sure your basketball goal stand is secured and is filled all the way with water / sand / whatever - go check it now.  On Sunday we had some serious wind around here.  I was looking out the window at all the cousins playing when i saw the goal blow over and almost had a heart attack.  It fell right on Jackson and the rim poked the top of his head pretty bad.  It could have been way worse, really, thank God everyone was ok.  I hate even typing about it.  J-man is fine and has decided to be professional baseball player now instead of basketball.  ;)

Love notes

My sweet, intense, emotional, handsome Nash often writes us love notes at night when getting ready for bed.  Kid is good at buying some extra time.  I keep some of them, but some get tossed when no one is looking.  I flipped this one over and noticed another little 'note' and busted out a smile.  He must have been running low of paper.
Sweet Nashy!

Real Nashy!

party time!

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words (or a mother who is too tired to type), so here ya go.  She liked it.  I mean, I am her mom.  We love celebrating you Winnie!

It was just our families, but she needed a real invite, I mean her bros had one when they turned ONE. It's Evites from here on out girlfriend.

Nice and clean, helping me with a little party prep.

Her throne, complete with party decor from her baby-shower.  Very impressed with myself for still having that banner.  Thanks Aunt Nat.

Ok, so this feels funny, but taste pretty good.

Farris party of 6 - close enough.

Winnie! Just do like this! Theo was an extremely observant supervisor.

Nommm

NOMMM!

Ok everyone! You happy now?! Come clean me and change my diapers for the next 24 hours...

36!

Yesterday was Charlie's birthday!  When your b-day falls 2 days after your baby girls 1st birthday, well, we tried, sort of...

For the record, that chocolate chip heart cookie cake was so unbelievably undercooked and delicious. And it was a good birthday.  Three back-to-back-to-back baseball games on a sunny Saturday and the Farris brothers were on fire.

My sidekick sat through the them all and ate an ungodly amount of snacks.  I came home excited about a good long nap, but nah ma, I'm good now.  My parent's came over to watch everyone (again, I know, I am the luckiest) so I could take the birthday boy out to dinner.  We went to Nana's in Durham and as usual it was THE BEST.  We had big plans to meet others downtown but that cookie cake and bed was calling my name.  And all these chillins we got do not care that we went out or that it is the weekend or that it is dad's birthday.  Rise and shine!

Do not use that cranium as a comparison.  That cake was really big.

ONE!

Yesterday, Winslow Louise Farris turned ONE years old.  I really cannot believe it.  No more babies around here, even though she will always be our baby Winnie!  Winnie girl, we love you more than you will ever know.  We all needed you more than we could have ever known.  You complete our loud crazy family and have officially joined right in.  You love us all, but I am still your favorite.  And by favorite I mean you want me to hold you constantly.  You even point to where you want to go and let out a little holler, bossy pants.  You really enjoy eating, everything, especially ice cream.  You have been sleeping through the night some, take 2 naps when you can and yell out 'MAAMMM' when you are ready to get going.  You say 'uh-oh' and 'bye-bye' give us courtesy laughs.  You have the best stink face ever and are not afraid to use it.  I love that you still snuggle on my shoulder and give a wide mouth kiss.  I wish you could stay like this forever but alas you are growing just like your brothers - and my back hurts and so does your dads - so I will embrace the few steps you have taken, but pick you up anytime you look at me with those arms wide open.  We love you, Winnie!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Wait? Who birthday dis is? Oh me.  What's up with this dry frozen waffle then?

Who sat me down? You getting the stank face.

I do love these big bros some kinda good.

Aww geeze, enough with the pics.  Let me get this sucker.

Ok, here ya go.  One.  And a tutu, mom's been on Etsy I see.

My favorite MAAMMM!

Ohhh Mexico...

Way down here, you need a reason to move. Feel a fool running your stateside games
Lose your load, leave your mind behind, Baby James
Woh, Mexico, it sounds so simple, I just got to go
The sun's so hot I forgot to go home, guess I'll have to go now
-James Taylor

The first annual siblings vacation was a success.  We all met up at an all inclusive resort and did some serious wining, dining and chilling.  Charlie and I went for 3 nights, just enough time to get a little rest and sunshine and start missing our crazy babies.  Until next year, right...?!?

We even let our spouses come, maybe next year our kids, nah.

We did do a little physical activity.  Water aerobics has my shoulders feeling a little tight.

Cheers!

Sista-Sista-Brotha.  We are lucky, besides a few unruly high school years, we have always pretty much liked each other!  I am the oldest (I know you can't tell) and am pretty much always in charge and right - so that helps.

My boo!

Twerkin'

One cent per gumball.  Best spring break idea, yet.  Dad best bring home some cold hard cash for these boys.

Spring Break!

Nothing like one week of Spring Break to remind you that summer is coming and you might want to sign your kids up for some camps.  Just keeping it real here.  We have had some good times though, including a trip to Boone to see our cousins.  Theo is still very confused about going to 'the mountains.'  When are we gonna be at the mountain was asked atleast 100 times.  It may have been a little let down that 'We are here! Right here! This is the mountain!' Butttt where is da mountain gonna be at, mom?!
The day we got there was gorgeous!  We hit up an awesome park in Valle Crucis and stayed there all afternoon.  These guys even checked out the water temps.  Brr.

Henry and Nash, looking like their dads frolicking in the park.

Pizza Party at the hotel.  Because when you are young is there anything cooler than a hotel?!

Except maybe a hotel with a hot tub and pool!

Come on mom, let me at em!

The second day was cold and windy so we got out some energy at... the hotel!  Seriously, until they actually care all of our 'vacations' are going to be one night in a hotel with a pool.

We did do a little Gem minining.  Get ready, they all got some good gems and are ready to have a 'Gem Stand' and make some money.

Home again, home again.  He wasn't tired, at all, never is, never will be.

Happy Easter!

We hunted, we dyed, we feasted, we celebrated - He is Risen!  Thank you God for the blessings of this day.
Easter egg hunt at the Farm with neighbors.  Theo was at pre-school so we had to do this one on the sneak.

Rabbit, Dabbit baby!  Look at those pretty eggs.

Theo's turn at the neighborhood hunt!

Easter bunny came!  I told them the night before I wasn't sure if he would since we never even saw him, Jackson replied, 'Good, he is just weird.  But I'll believe for some cannddyyyy!'

 Easter Sunday with my Peeps!

Cute Cousin peeps!

Easter Lunch at Grandmama & Granddaddy's house! Cornstick anyone?
