Thankful

What a year.  Not the best year for blogging.  You would think I would have had the time.  We have had lots of time.  Time together.  I wouldn't trade it and I am sure at some point I will look back on it fondly.  Right now it is still kinda loud and messy but we here and we cute!  I love these fall pictures.  I love how we never once dressed up like this going on 10 months now...  comfy quarantine has been embraced.

I am still obsessed with our house.  We have lived here a little over a year and it has been 'lived in' more than I ever imagined.  The Curlew Cartel as we call it has been an awesome sanity saving street.  Ball in the yard all day long and drinks on the porch at 4:00.

Love these peeps!

Cutie nuggets!

Jackson Arthur Farris.  Still as sweet as they come. Loves baseball, football, basketball, rollerblading, all the tag games, reading and eats like a horse.

Nash William Farris.  Still as handsome and intense as his daddy.  He loves all the ball, all the time, all the friends, and all the action.

Theodore Joseph Farris.  My growing little weasel.  He never misses a beat with his brothers, loves drawing and will still snuggle with his mama.

Winnie Louise Farris.  She LOVES her brothers and all their friends, almost as much as she loves me.  She is a singing and dancing girl who is not afraid to tackle.

I was struggling to get her bathed and in bed the other night.  She gave me a soaking wet hug and said 'your my mom and my best friend!'  I'll take it for was long as I can.

Bless em.

Halloween 2020!

Alas, my kids are too old to want to do a theme with me, but I am old enough to be the grim reaper for life.  Thankfully, our neighborhood still participated in trick or treating from a safe distance and we got all. the. candy!

A little pre-Halloween fun at Aunt Nat's house with some cousins.

Peppa Pig! We found this costume in our dress up box, score!  Especially since girlfriend has been on a HUGE Peppa kick.  She strutted around in her preschool parade but still wanted to be a spooky witch for the real Halloween day.

Getting 'kinda spooky' as Winnie would say.

It me!

Miscellaneous Pictures That Make Me Smile

We are still in a pandemic.  It doesn't seem to be getting any better any time soon.  But, we are all well.  Our family is well.  Our friends are well.  My kids are living the good life with lots of time at home, and I am going to embrace it.  The days are long (real real long) but the years, short.  I am not sure how I have a 10, 8, 6 and 3 year old.  So, some random pictures that make me smile.

We have lived at our new house for a year now.  The house has been so great.  The kids on our street, our quaranteam, even greater.  We all play outside all day, every day.  We even added a new little girl next door.  The crew welcomed her home lining the street with pink balloons and a bike parade.

No 'Fun Run' this year but Creekside did have a virtual 'Dance Party.'  All the Eagles gathered together and got their groove on.

Winnie girl! She does get to go to preschool 2 mornings a week and loves it!  I was going to be her teacher but instead I get to be her brothers teachers.  I don't think she minds the break from all of us one bit.

Bed time is usually me yelling, it is tooo late, lights out, go to bed, why are we still up, what is going on? So, this is always a nice surprise.

Dance class for Winnie! Backyard ball for the boys! 'Brothers! You better say bye to me!'

Week 647 of virtual schooling.  I am sad Theo's teacher hasn't been able to meet this galoot.

Wellness Wednesday! We ventured to the zoo.  Straight killing home school.

Josie was baptized at an outdoor drive thru ceremony, in true Covid style.  We didn't actually make it but did bring donuts, in true Farris style.

I just like this picture of me and my BFF.

South Durham Little League Champions!  The Braves fought their way out of the losers bracket to win the 'ship this year! Theo was so pumped, almost as pumped as Coach Will!

Some travel ball with my big boys.  They win some, they lose some, they know I am always up for ice cream.

Dance! Ballet and tap with Cousin Eleanor.

They drive me crazy.  A happy crazy, but crazy.

I have turned into a lackluster plant lady and I have a cute helper.

Girls rule.  Boys drool.

Pumpkin patch pic! It was actually ice cream, but they did have a good spot for pictures, so it counts.

I don't know.

Aunt Sarah got MARRIED! To an Irish man.  More pretty pics to come, one day.

Virtual Schooling

We are 4 (5? 6?) weeks in on this thing we call virtual schooling during a pandemic.  I meant to post this earlier but all of the computers are tied up, as is the internet, and my brain or lack of brain.  These kids are living the dream.  A little online work and a lot of outside playtime.  Our backyard is basically one big frat party minus the alcohol and explicit lyrics blaring out of the Alexa.  I will look back and remember this time as my loss of sanity, they will see it as the best semester of their life.  These goobers keep it happy and real during the Corona virus and for that I am grateful.  Keep working hard teachers, we owe you big, real real big.
First day pic! We weren't late and didn't have to look for shoes!

1st Grade with Ms. Smith.  Bless her.

3rd Grade with Ms. Lovetinsky.  Bless her.

5th grade with Ms. Merritt.  Bless her.

Busted out of Chapel Hill for another beach trip this summer with Farris, Carinci, Asma families.  You can't really beat a week at the beach.  I love my people!

Another brand new niece!  Welcome sweet Charlie Girl!

I can't believe we dared ask Winnie to smile on the day we were leaving!

July 4th

No big parades or firework celebrations this year, but our awesome street made the most of July 4th.  I had to get my annual picture with my #1 girlfriend.  'Merica!!

The Beach!

We went to the beach!  It was so nice to get away with family.  A week of no worries except the sand stuck in all the bathing suits and what drink to make next.  I could quarantine for a while longer at the beach!

We MISSED the Fowler family.

Big cousin Winnie!

Good eats!

More good eats!

Handsome big bros.  They got taken down, wave after wave after wave and loved every bit of it.

Winner, winner, crab for dinner.

Or a fish?!

The man, the myth, the Theo!

Bikini love!

Blues are Back, sorta

The Blues baseball team had a scrimmage last week.  The first sporting event in too too long.  It was very relaxed -and social distanced- and all the players got a chance to pitch.  J-man was throwing the heat.  I guess 4 months off does the body good.  I mean he struck out 5 of 6 batters and only pinged one in the head.  Thankfully it hurt Jackson more than it did the batter.  My baby boy.  Time flies, but 10 year olds are really fun and a lot more self sufficient.  Power on baby mamas. (I am speaking to the choir.)  It only gets better.
