My main squeeze took it like a champ yesterday, a heavy weight champ. He had his 2 month check-up that included 3 shots and some nasty medicine. He was in the 99% for weight (hubbahubba) and 91% for length. In other news, he slept for a record breaking 6 hours in his crib last night! Please be a trend.

2 months!

I cannot believe Jackson is 2 months old today! He is so much more alert and loves giving his mom and dad smiles. He is the sweetest in the morning and tries really hard to talk. He loves sleeping on your chest and lifting his head up to look around. He still rarely misses a meal, but did have a record breaker 5 hours a few days ago!

Jackson loves to take a bath. He just chills and stares at whomever is giving it to him. However, he does not like getting out of the bath and drying off, leading him to cry and spit-up or pee on himself. Back to the bath we go...

beach babes

We took Jackson out to the beach for a hot 30 minutes this weekend. He slept under an umbrella chair the whole time. Guess he likes the warmth on his skin, breeze in the air, and the sound of the ocean - just like his mama. He secretly told me he would like to move there - just like his mama.

I just spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get Jackson to go down for a nap. He slept for a whole 15 minutes in his car carrier. I made lunch, it is still in the microwave, smells good...

bachelorette

This weekend Jackson attended his first bachelorette party. One of my good friends is getting married in September and had a girls weekend in Wilmington. Charlie offered to tag along and watch Jackson while I ventured out on the town for the first time post baby. Thanks to to quality television, Kourtney & Khloe take Miami, I learned about Breast milk Alcohol Detection Strips. I pumped a lot last week to try and build up some supply and then used these little strips to see when it was ok to breastfeed again. It was a great weekend but this mama sure can't hang like she used to.

This little fellow has been shooting smiles my way all week. Reason 607 that I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with him for now. I would have had to start back to work this week. I cannot imagine having to drop him off at daycare and admire all of the wonderful mothers that have to do this. The last 7 weeks have definitly been the hardest 'job' I have ever had and I am looking forward to many more!

Watching The Batchelorette with my dad. He makes us wait till he closes up the store before we can start. Yep, Monday night is an exciting one!

The time has finally come. I had a doctor's appointment today and have been cleared to start working out. This 101 degree heat is gonna be a nice way to start things off. Looks like Jackson and I are gonna be going on some early morning and late evening strolls.

Since the attempting to lose pregnancy pounds post, I have only lost 4. I can't complain, the only thing I cut back on was getting a mini instead of a regular sub at Jersey Mike's. Maybe one day I will give up the bacon or the cookie, not both. Baby steps...

4th of july

This 4th of July was not like any other, I imagine this will be the case from here on out. No beach time, no cookouts, no late nights, no hangovers... it was pretty awesome. We headed to Wilson to celebrate with our families. We had some pool time, too many hotdogs, caught up on some sleep, and snuck in some board games.

july!

I cannot believe it is already July! Summer is my favorite time of year. I love the sticky hot heat with the occasional breezy day (this weekend!). Jackson has 4 super cute bathing suits that need to be worn asap (he will be going down the slide on his own by the end of summer at this rate). We are going to head to the pool for the first time this weekend, leading me to buy a big fat one-piece. Does that mean I am officially a mom? I didn't get the matching skirt, yet.
