Me: Jackson! Do ya'll want to go on a special lunch date with me to Chic-fil-a?
Jackson: Ahmm, no not today.
Me: Really? Chicken and fries and fruit and maybe even some ice cream? Then ya'll can play!
Jackson: Nope lets go to Jersey Mike's.  I love Jersey Mike's. I want to get a wrap today.
Nash: Ddaaaddddyyyyy!!!!

They know what they like.  Jersey Mike's and daddy and cookies.  Me too.

zoo!

The boys, my mom and sister all headed to the NC Zoo this week.  I must admit I had my doubts, but it was awesome!  We spent most of the day in the Africa area checking out gorillas, giraffes, lions, zebras, elephants, etc!  I highly recommend it.  Wear your walking shoes, bring your stroller, pack lots of snacks and get your learn on.

Look at me I'm a monkey! (yes, yes, yes you are)

Whoa! Dinosaur fossils!

bubbles

After dinner we try and get outside for a while before bath time.  Every now and then we can sneak to the front yard and blow bubbles.  Because Nash is just a little sick and tired of playing baseball and no offense Jackson but I can't blame him.  One can only be the position of the 'cheerer' for so long.  Nash loves chasing some bubbles.  We got a nice bubble 'wand' and got some good ones going the other evening.  And by good I mean bigger than his head, and we know that is big!

game time

This weekend Charlie and I went with some friends to the Zac Brown Band Concert, it was an awesome concert.  But not as awesome as winning a signed baseball bat.  Mr. Jackson-baseball-loving-fool got to go to the Wilson Tobs baseball game with my parents and Aunt Nat and won 'Fan of the Game.'  I have no idea what this entails but I imagine it had a lot to do with my dad 'Wiill' yelling really loud and Jackson following close behind him.  I can guarantee they got it right, no one in that stadium is a bigger baseball fan.  Today he played baseball in the back yard for approximately 4 hours straight, thankfully it was Sunday and dad was home.

Heels House

The Tarheels have a big elimination game tonight in the College World Series.  Jackson is pretty excited being that his favorite thing to do is play baseball.  Thanks to my rockin mama BFF Lindsy for the awesome shirts that they will be wearing all the time.  TAR...

Jackson don't play!

Nash stays playin'!

naps

Jackson is over naps.  He needs one but not until about 4:00.  Then he will sleep till 6:00 when I wake him up and then he is up until 10:00 hanging out.  Not cool.  Nash is taking one nap after lunch for 30 minutes to 2 hours.  He gets woken up a lot by someone who is supposed to be 'resting.'  The other day Nash finally fell asleep in my arms and I put him on my bed.  I warned Jackson 'do not bother him.'  A few minutes later I can't find him and what do my eyes see but this big sweaty ball of sweetness.  Jackson went to lay with Nash, pull his hair and suck his thumb.  This is to good to be true...

I gave it 15 minutes and went upstairs to find this...

Much to Nash's dismay Jackson never woke up...

I might have to change the blog name to "Sleepin' With One Eye Open."

Happy Father's Day

The top reason's (just from this morning) that our dad really is #1 -

-He plays baseball with Jackson at 8 am, when I am just not feeling it.
-He pats a screaming Nash's back for 30 minutes at 3 am, because otherwise he may get punched, Nash not Charlie, well maybe Charlie too.
-He reads this blog about 2 months after a post and tells me how bad my grammar is, and then it is just too late to fix, so I'm sorry.
-He is always up for an impromptu dance party on the just made bed.

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful dads out there.  Especially my boys dad, you really are the best!

slip & slide

This morning at approximately 7:45 am Jackson pulled out the slip & slide and requested we get it out right now please!  Heck no, we are still in our pjs, I need more coffee, maybe this afternoon.  Why mom I want to play slide in the bases now! I walked outside, it was already 85 degrees and daddy was still at home.  So really, why not?  They win again.

stats

The boys had doctor check-ups this morning and I am happy to say they were both healthy and all smiles.  They sure know how to show off and work a room, a little too much of their daddy in them.  I may be in some trouble.

Jackson's 3 year old stats
Height - 3 ft. 3 in. - 85%
Weight - 41lb. 4 oz. - 98%

Nash's 15 month old stats
Height - 2 ft. 8 in. - 75%
Weight - 27 lb. 5 oz. - 93%
Head - 20 in. - 100%**

underwear

Aunt Nat accidentally called Jackson's underwear 'panties' the other day.  I mistakenly said gross don't call boys undies 'panties.'  It has been Jackson's favorite word ever since.

morning talks

Nash is my morning person.  Every day he says he wants 'waaffffles', but usually means oatmeal. We eat breakfast together and chat about his big bro.  I like to think it goes something like this.

And then I was all like no he didn't...

 He must be crazy...

I ain't tryin to deal wid dat!

reunions

This past weekend we attended a Baltzegar family reunion, a Farris family reunion and a lovely funeral for Charlie's dear Great Aunt Katie; aka we did a lot of driving, some serious playing and ate a lot of fried chicken, hot dogs and desserts.  Today I attempted to do laundry and straighten up the house. A fellow mom friend told me that cleaning with children around is like brushing your teeth while eating an Oreo.  I think eating an Oreo would be much more fun than cleaning.

Because being messy is fun mom! -Jackson

15 months!

And by the way, this guy is already 15 months.  He likes Popsicles, waffles, dog food, chicken, strawberries, apples and dog food.  And everything that his big brother does.  He eats like a champ (obviously), walks like a champ, talks like a champ (waffle, truck, shoes are a few of his new words), and sleeps like a baby.  Actually I take that back, he slept better when he was a baby.  He still wakes up about once a night and screams until someone brings him some milk.  One day I will be very proud of his strong will, never give up attitude and one day he will sleep through the night.  Right?  My sister gave me this sweet bed time book, Go the $*#& to Sleep.  Not appropriate for children but do yourself a favor and listen to Samuel Jackson's reading of it, again, adults only.
