Birthday Boy!

Happy 2nd Birthday to the most handsome, sweet, crazy-smart TWO year old, Nash William!  So many people love you more than you can ever imagine.  Thanks for filling our lives with so much laughter.  We celebrated with a few family and friends yesterday at Playnation.  You had a wonderful time running around with everyone but you do not like people to wish you Happy Birthday or show you special attention.  Your big bro is always close by to make sure you are OK.

Hey Nash are you ready for your cake?!!

Because I sure am!

Yeah I like cake!

Hmm, I think I have been tricked.

Yep!  I told ya'll not to sing to me!

soul train

Saturday morning soul train with mom.  I did not encourage this attire.  In fact I would love it if they did not pull out everything in my closet.  But boys will be boys…?

Turn this song up mom!  They say 'talk doo-doo to me.'  That's funny right?
Whoops, note to self, work on car music selection.

Who needs girls anyways.

Staycation

Charlie and I headed to the Fearrington Inn for a mid-week stay-cation this week.  We walked a lot (hello warmer weather!!), ate a lot of delicious food, and did some serious relaxing.  I even talked Charlie in to getting a pedicure.  He gets the hype now, don't let him tell your otherwise.  Grandmama came and stayed with the boys, a vacation in itself for them.  It was just what we all needed.

The name game...

Baby boy needs a name!  Since Jackson Arthur and Nash William are family names and to help us narrow down the choices, we are leaning towards another family name.  We really like one but anytime I mention it to Jackson he says 'I thought our baby was a boy? That's a girls name mom.'  He suggests Jake, Santa Clause, Tree and Jack.  Nash suggest Hoppy-doo-dee.  So yeah, we are still working on a name over here.
Just winding down before bath time.

Here we go...

Well, well, well we have made it to the third trimester.  Now that is a little terrifying. I have some things to get done before this baby gets here.  I am still waiting on the 'nesting' bug to hit me because right now the 'lazy' bug is coming on strong.  I am feeling pretty good and big but I have started to embrace being a big pregnant lady.  I crave burritos, pizza, Jersey Mike's subs (duh), ice cream, cinnamon rolls, donuts and red wine.  The same things I have craved my whole life only now I eat them (not the wine people, chill out).  I have crazy heartburn and wake up all through the night.  He is prepping me nicely.  This baby boy is doing great giving me lots of movement.  That is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world, those secret sneaky little kicks he gives his mama all day long.  His big brothers love to 'touch your baby' and give him kisses whenever possible.  (I had to put a stop to the random shirt pull ups at the grocery store.)  They can't sit in my lap as comfortably as they used to but that does not stop them from trying.  We all love you so much baby boy and can't wait for your to get here. OK, that was a lie, your mom can wait, yes I need all the time you will give me.

Nice try skinny-punk daddy.  Baby boy is about the size of a head of cauliflower.  You should see the size of cauliflower in North Carolina this year, huge I tell ya, just huge!  ;)

FROZEN!

The boys went to see their first movie at the 'nudie theodor' this weekend.  After lots of recommendations we finally saw Frozen and I thought it was great.   We took Nanny Nat with us just in case anyone needed to leave before it was over but everyone made it through with lots of popcorn, Sprite and a few tears.  Nash didn't like the loud parts and covered his ears most of the time.  Jackson wanted to know 'why don't they just hurry up and get her,' those suspenseful Disney movies I tell ya.  I would say it was an expensive success.  And Nash is free until he turns 2, any other good movies out there for the next 2 weeks?!

bff

"I am smiling because you are my brother, I am laughing because there is nothing you can do about it.'

These 2 guys have really become the best of friends.  They fight and tattle and pester each other A LOT, but they also play, laugh and tell jokes A LOT.  Nash is Jackson's little side-kick, copying and saying everything he does.  Whenever Nash doesn't go with us somewhere Jackson cries 'but I might miss him!'  I am a little bit jealous of the secret brotherhood bond that they already have with each other.

Picnic lunch in the suburban, you gotta get 'outside' in the cold sometimes.

It is never too cold for ice cream! Or in Nash's case a big cup of gummy bears.

Hugging? Napping? Reading? Choke Hold?

'You want to sit beside me and I can touch your hair Nash?' 'Yeah.'

'I get Jacksy! Dis is funny mom!'

Boys Night

Jackson and his dad had a 'boys night' and went to the UNC football signing day this week.  You can ask Charlie for the specifics on actual players and how awesome they will be next year and you can ask Jackson for the specifics on what kind of food they had and how awesome it was.  Maybe one day Jackson will play for the Tarheels and we can pull up this picture and smile.  Maybe one day he will play for another team and this picture will be ironic.  Maybe one day this goofball will be a mascot (my prediction) and this picture will be perfect.

gym time

The boys and I have started hitting up the gym every Tuesday.  No, I am not working out sillies.  The boys are taking a Kidokinetics class through the Parks & Rec. Department.  Every week they learn a new sport.  Nash is too young but 'the coach' lets him join in and out as he pleases.  Everyone is loving it, especially with this not so great weather we have been having.  We need all the energy busters we can get.

Studs.

Working on balancing 'pizza' on our heads.
