crushing

I got a crush on these crazy studs.  And they will all still snuggle with their lucky mama.

Theo, the dude.

Nash, the stud.

Jackson, the sweetheart.

D. Bulls

Jackson and Nash went to a Durham Bulls baseball camp last week and, no surprise, loved it!  It was just for 3 days from 9-1.  They did drills with the coaches and players, ate lunch in the ballpark and then had a scrimmage.  Nash won so many drills in his age group that the D Bulls player made him come shag balls for him - his dream.  Jackson hit an in the park homer and his teammates picked him up and hoisted him around - his dream.  We all went to the game Saturday night and there was a grand slam!  It was a good week for the Bulls fans.

Bros!  Nash sporting his rally cap on the way in to camp.

Theo is ready.  Not for the real Wool E. Bull but for baseball camp.

Gooooo!  Homegirl did some serious dancing and clapping for the intro songs.

to help or not to help.

I've been hanging around, this town, on the corner...

big bros

I rarely get time with just my two big guys.  They would rather play ball with dad while I hang out with the fan club.  I can't blame them.  Sunday just the three of us went for a bike ride and found a 'super secret trail.'  I remembered how much fun growing up is and I am realizing how much fun growing boys are.  I had to snap this picture of us being all outdoorsy.  And let's be real, upon pulling out my camera, 'oh your phone, let's look for pokemon!'  Next time we will bring waters and snacks and last a little longer.

lately...

A few pictures of the 'fun' things we have done this summer.  I think we are about half way through, not that I have noticed or anything.  Not pictured - So. much. laundry.  So. many. cups.  All. the. snacks.  Epic. meltdowns. Or the occasional cuss word.

My sidekick who follows me everywhere.  If you have never said, please scoot back so I can wipe, do you even have kids.

Dad's turn! Some church league softball.

Some evening bike rides and hanging out at the park.  I spy a Winnie!

I did not prompt this.  Looks like we need a stroller! ;)

Saturday mornings = flag football.  Super proud of my sportsmanship winner.

Wednesday morning kids movies! We saw the Emoji movie, and it was not as bad as I had imagined.

Cheering on cousin Farris in the State Championship.  They won! Go Wilson!

Staying strong with our Sunday tradition of church, Jason's Deli and then Barnes & Noble.  We have graduated to TWO readers and two train table cruisers.

Summer job perks.  A pool nap.  Otherwise, the pool is not relaxing this summer, at all.

Savages.  A plate of meat and corn on the cob, taken down in 30 seconds.

stats-stats-stats-stats

ALL the Farris chillins had a wellness check-up in the same afternoon.  I figured we would just rip the band-aid right on off.  They were bribed with something special if they behaved.  Lucky for me, they didn't so I was able to load them up and bring them straight home.  Looking at the bright side over here.  And the super bright side is four healthy, loud, big-headed, rascals that make my heart burst with pride, love and anxiety. Now for everyone's favorite part, who is the biggest?

boss baby

I love this dirty faced rascal, in her Nike romper, reading her 'Feminist' book, as I stroll her around the neighborhood.  The boss baby has arrived and she is fierce.

sunflowers

Nash got a packet of seeds to plant.  Doubting they would grow or that he would water them, I told him to plant them wherever.  Now I can barely pull in the garage.  He proved me wrong, again.  On a side note, I am thinking of pulling up all the dead bushes on the side of the house and throwing out sun flower seeds?!

fast shorts

Every day Theo picks out his own clothes.  This is after I have already put clothes out for him at his request.  I have succumbed to his style - a jersey and 'fast shorts' aka gym shorts - every single day.  He is so stinking cute in whatever he wears and tells me he loves me all the way to the rocket ships and even Mexico, so I give in.  Handsome little rascal.

the 4th!

Happy 4th of July!  In true North Carolina fashion it was a steamy one.  It is no secret I love the smoking hot summer time, it is also no secret that summer time with kids is holy smokes sweaty.  We had our neighborhood 4th of July parade, watched Joey Chestnut down some hot dogs, tried to get money at the pool (fail) and saw a few fireworks before the rain came down on us.  It was perfect, time to go to bed, timing.  Let freedom ring!

Gotta get that, BOOM BOOM BOOM! Annual mommy-daughter photo.  Sorry, not sorry Miss Winnie Louise!

Cousin camp!

The Chicago cousins came!  They drove here (what the what - Theo freaks out when we drive to church, ughhh soooo farrrrr) and hung out for the week.  Sweet Hannah even got to stay extra days with my parents for a real NC summer time.  We have 9 kids between us all so we do a lot of wrangling and pool time and snacks but we have a good time!

A big cousin sleepover with Aunt Nat & Z & Dolly.  They loved it, except Theo, who came home, womp womp.

Pool and Snacks! Don't even try and steal home girls snacks.  The stink face is not as bad but the side-eye game is strong.

Music and SNACKS on the lawn.

A delicious adults dinner at Elements.  Bless Courtney's Drop In Childcare.

Camp Arrowhead!!  Hannah joined the boys at Camp Arrowhead this year.  It is the best.
