We braved the heat wave and headed out to see the Tarheels in the ACC Championship game on Sunday.  They WON in a really fun, home run hitting, game.  Go Heels, go America.

NINE!!!

My baby boy turned 9 years old!  He still has that exact same sparkle in his eyes, joy for life and loves a good surprise.  We said no to gaming systems unless he bought it himself - I couldn't think of a thing to get him for his birthday - so, I caved.  It is going to be a hot summer and we are going to play us some Xbox.

FIVE!

Theodore Joseph Farris is 5!! We had an awesome day celebrating this joyful, jumping, squirrel of a boy!  I was trying to think of the words to describe Theo. He adores his big bros and takes a lot of pride in being Winnie's big brother, but he is his own being.  I was telling our neighbor Ms. Diane that Theo was 5 as she has seen him grow since the day we brought him home from the hospital.  She couldn't believe it and said one of her favorite things is to watch Theo and all the things he does in the front yard as he seems to take such a delight in everything.  She is so right, Theo takes such delight in life.  May you continue to do you Theo, you bring joy to all who cross your path.

I don't know how my 4 year old looks like he is about to turn 16 in this picture.  A weird glimpse into the future.  I can hardly stand that he will turn FIVE in just a few days.

Mother's Day!!

Happy Happy Mother's Day.  I am surrounded by so many good ones and am so lucky God blessed me to mother this crazy crew.  They showered me with homemade cards and minimal bloody nose fights.  They think I am the best mom ever and love me oh so good, even if I did get a baby-sitter to go out to dinner without them tonight.

Our sweet, Mama, Tat-Tat, Señora Winslow - turned 60! She is the best we could ever ask for and doesn't look a day over 29.  She made me think that 4 kids was easy - and now I wonder just what else she has been fibbing about all this time.  Santa?!!

Monday

She is mad because I won't make crescent rolls at 10am for her.  We try and eat healthy for a few hours on Monday, Winnie.

But now I kinda want crescent rolls sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.  Because it is Monday, and they are hard.
