rain on your wedding day = good luck!

Jackson has a new aunt!  Despite a big fat hurricane, trees in the driveway, no power, flooding, etc. etc. - they did it and will have many wedding day stories to tell.  Everything was beautiful and we had so much fun.

Wedding day morning at my parents house, someone is not to worried about drying his hair or putting on make-up...

 Bridesmaid luncheon!

Winslow, Farris, Fowler family at the rehearsal dinner

Brittni & Clint at the rehearsal dinner.

Jackson getting ready for his ring bearing duties, yes he went down the aisle, in my arms, sucking his thumb... cute as ever

The power came on during the reception! After cheers from the crowd the band started playing and it was party time.

 Funfetti Cake!

 Heading to the Dominican...

 Brittni's Ruby Red Slippers!

Day after the wedding... Jackson sneaking away from his grandparents, he was the only one who apparently didn't need a nap!

wedding!

Jackson's Uncle Clint is getting married this weekend and my chunky monkey is the 'ring bearer.'  We have very low expectations on his duties at the actual service but I am sure he will be ready to party and eat with the newly married at the reception!  Word on the street is that a hurricane is set to hit on Saturday??!  Bring it on Irene, you got nothing on this Winslow wedding weekend.

15 months!

Jackson had his 15 month doctor's visit yesterday and the doc said he was the best baby she had seen in weeks!  (Don't tell me if she also said this to your son or daughter...)  He is off the charts awesome, in more ways than one, hubbahubba!
weight - 29 1/2 lbs - 95%
height - 31.9 inches - 75%
Head - 20.1 - 90%

For his 15 month old birthday I am going to dress up like a 15 year old and go to the Britney Spears concert with my sister Sarah!  Oops I did it again...

prayers

Jackson still wakes up late at night sometimes. Usually, he will cry out and go back to sleep. If not Charlie can go pick him up and rock him for a few before he really wakes up. If still not then he wants his mama. If still not as in we are both wide awake then he wants some milk. (this could be a 2 hour process) Walking around at 3am with 28lbs of baby and I can get pretty annoyed. Patience is something that I struggle with everyday, especially when I am tired. The other night I walked around the upstairs of our new house patting Jackson's back as he rest on my shoulder. This was a first for us. It is a lot quieter than our old house although their are creaks on the floor that I am learning to navigate around. The street is darker with only a few porch lights on. In this moment I am reminded how blessed I am to be able to do this. To live here, have a healthy family and a little boy that wants nothing more than his mama. I say a prayer to God asking for patience and thanking him for everything he has done. I should really do this more often. I have been blessed.

my copycat

This morning we have a play (mama-gab) date with the Lackey family and this evening a NFL fantasy draft party (lockout-shmockout) with old co-workers all at our new house. In trying to pretend like I am organized and clean I woke up early this morning to stuff some things in cabinets and make sure toilet paper was in the bathroom. I don't want my old office family to wonder what I do all day long, because sometimes I sure do... Jackson was a big help and got up early too! I noticed he was being pretty quiet and not dangling from my leg. I looked up to find mister copy-cat placing all of his things in between the screen door and gate. I laughed, he pretended to laugh since I was laughing and we just kept on cleaning.

ok, what's next?

Sleepin' in the new day's sun.

hide-n-seek

Jackson's new favorite game is hide-n-seek / peek-a-boo / i'm gonna get you. Really any form of you chasing him or him chasing you and 'hiding.' He could do it for hours, I on the other hand am getting tired of his lack of hiding skills. It is time for me to teach Jackson how to step up his game.

beach bum

All of the Farris family headed to the beach for a few relaxing days. Jackson takes his 'chill' time very seriously. He loved playing on the beach and eating lots of grandma's good cooking.

It's a bird, It's a plane, It's a big chunk of sleeping baby!

Taking a little snack break before snack time...

Wallering around in the hole my dad made me.

Best part of the beach, hosing off, must do it for atleast 30 minutes!

Going in deep with my dad!
