pumpkins!

We hit up a garden center down the road for our pumpkins this year.  It was close and easy and I only had to spank one kid and then I was the one who got stung by bugs all down my shirt - so yeah, went as to be expected.
Cutie rascal.  These are her favorite shoes.  They are too small and thin and white and patent leather and mostly inappropriate to wear, but she loves them, so I love them.  And I hide them.

Not sure when her 2 biggest brothers go so dang big.

Artist at work.  Theo does pretty well with his cast, but he does get frustrated not being able to climb the tree house or play tackle football, etc. etc.  So, I let them paint.  I am not a let's pull out all the paint person, but we did it outside and they kepy busy for a solid 3 minutes.

I mean is it really even fall if you don't pay to let your kid role around in a bin of corn?! We went one morning with some friends from pre-school and I still have corn in the washing machine.
A field trip to the pumpkin patch with my 1st grader.  Loved getting to hang out with this stud and his classmates.

11 years!

11 years!  We celebrated by going to baseball games and making lots and lots of subs.  Charlie got home just in time to take the big boys to the football game and I got to hang with Winnie and Theo... good thing they are cute!  BUT I stole daddy away the next day and we went on a quick staycation to Downtown Durham.  We stayed at 21c Museum Hotel which was super funky, trendy, artsy and weird.  We did lots of walking and eating and sleeping and it was a perfect 12 hours!

Handsome bros cheering on the Tar Heels, getting too big.

Dinner with Winnie girl!

Watching the game on tv with goobster.

A little throw back goodness, we barely aged at all...

Actually, Charlie has not aged at all.  Looks thinner and more handsome than ever.  Dudes are punks. And Mateo Tapas, you must go there for dinner.

Loss of limbs

It comes as not a very big surprise, but our sweet Theo broke 2 bones in his arm last week.  He was playing baseball in the front yard with his big brothers and tripped while heading to home plate.  I think he tried to catch himself with his left arm on the concrete.  I did not see any of it happen but I do know for certain, he was safe!  Thankfully my mom was already on her way over to baby-sitt while I went to a meeting! Instead I loaded Theo up and took him over to the Orthopedic Urgent care where we have received great care before...  They did X-rays and saw that it was broken in 2 spots.  They then tried to 'snap' it back into place at the clinic.  It sounded very painful and did not work.  We got sent to the ER so an orthopedic surgeon could have a look and we could get our boy some pain meds!  Everything at the hospital went well, slow but well.  They sedated Theo and were able to put his arm back in place while it was under x-ray.  We are hoping that in 6 weeks he will be as good as new.

Sleepy, brave, dirty, nugget.

Daddy made it! On top of all of this, it was Opening Day at the new Jersey Mike's.

All hooked up post sedation and getting it put back in place.  Hurts my heart.

Some worried brothers and sister were ready to great him the next morning!

Brave boy! Now, what to do for the next 6 weeks?!!?

New Store!

Coming in hot... the 5th Jersey Mike's store in (or around) Orange County!  Jersey Mike's is opening in the Chatham Crossing shopping center today AND you get a free sub if you make a donation to Super Cooper's Little Red Wagon Foundation.  So go and check them out and support this amazing organization.  I love being part of the Jersey Mike's corporation, it really is 'a sub above.'

blogging

My blogging skills have really been lacking over here.  Life with four kids and a hard working dad (new jmikes opening up wednesday!!!) doesn't allow for much down time, BUT I really enjoy doing this and I am determined to keep it going, somewhat.  For now I leave you with this gem of a picture. I went on a cabinet clean out freak attack and found this...

ballers

Fall ball is in full swing around here.  Saturday we were 'lucky' enough to have all 3 games on the same field back to back to back...

Go Theo! No surprise here, but my boy is ripping the ball but still making sure to entertain everyone.

Go Nash! Lucky boy also has a really hot coach!

Go Jackson! He has moved up to kid pitch.  It can be rather slow at times, but they do get to steal, and J can show off his speed. (hehehe...)

Go Winnie! The real MVP.  Fall ball does not feel like fall but it doesn't seem to bother this sweaty nugget.
