ball life

We had perfect baseball weather (finally!) this past weekend.  The boys all came away with W's and Winnie with all the snacks.  It makes for some long days at the ballpark, but we all kinda love it.

Let's go Orioles!  Theo is all t-ball, all the time, with an extra side of goober.

Let's go Red Sox! Nash was in a little hitting slump, but he is backkkk.  He has a pretty natural ability in the field.  That kind that makes you proud but kind of ticks you off.

Let's go Tigers! We want a pitcher not a belly itcher.  Jackson has been a pitching machine lately and loving it.  He works really hard at it and it shows, proud of this big boy.

And our #1 fan! Gooo Jatsy, goo Nassyy, goo Feeoo!

She got jokes too.  She is really the best, just what these boys and this mama needed.

nephew

I got a brand spanking new nephew.  Silas William Fowler was born on April 25th and is as perfect as can be.  He is the luckiest little boy with the best mama.  We can't wait to love all over him.

field tripping

I was lucky enough to chaperone Jackson's 3rd grade field trip.  It was a walking tour of downtown Durham on the prettiest day of the year, yet!  We saw the History Museum, Arts Council, Fire Station, City Hall and had a picnic lunch.  I had an awesome group of boys to tag along with.  Durham public schools are rocking it, go love on your teachers, and the kids are going to be alright!!

Just some bros getting their learn on.

Fire station! Lots of cool information and lots of questions about the big explosion in downtown Durham.

City Hall.  Five council members were there, very impressed.  J was an attentive little nerd and even asked questions.

A look into the future, it is bright!

J's 3rd Grade Class.  A lot of focus is being but on taking racial relations classes etc. If you really want an awesome experience then start by chaperoning a field trip!  The diversity is amazing.  My new best bud moved here from Brazil so his dad could open up a Cheese Bread company! I already purchased my first bag of frozen cheese bread balls, will report back!

The annual egg dye, so relaxing and loving and fun...

A tee-ball scrimmage for Theo, finally!! Nash found his old Orioles gear and headed to help coach and my heart grew a little more.

Winnie helped me with our Annual neighborhood hunt. WOOOKK!!

The cousins were all in Wilson and we jumped and played and ate and did it all over again!

party rockin' ...

We had a fun weekend celebrating our 2 birthday buddies!  Charlie is ready for Winnie to turn 21 and do some big trips together but I am claiming some mother - daughter ones before then.  I am due!

Bus pick-up with snack cakes.  When it is a nice day this is one of my favorite things.  Walking to get big bros and hearing about their days.

One of my not so favorite things, grocery store with helpers and unloading groceries with helpers...

Making a little money to buy some presents.  Theo had himself a rock sale.  And we have really nice neighbors who were looking to up their home decor.

Haircuts!! J wanted short but not too short, Nash picked a style from the old haircut books they have laying around and Theo hopped right up in the chair and said 'a mohawk.'  She assured me she could do it and comb it right on down.  He also asked how to get a mustache.  Whew.

Baseball! We have not had much Little League Baseball, sooo much rain.  But we have been to a few Tarheel games.  Ramses was smitten with Ms. Winnie and to my surprise she loved it!

PARTY TIME.  Thanks to my brothers and cousins for helping me open a few presents and having cupcakes with me!

Happy Birthday Winnie! She wasn't too sure about the whole thing.  I like this picture because my arm looks toned, and I'll take what I can get, and I am just keeping it real on the blog.

Winnie Mouse!! Aunt Nat got us some balloons and Minnie Mouse decor because she is the best.  When Winnie says her name she says 'MiMi' and it is just the best.

Another rainy morning with cancelled baseball.  The spoiled brothers got to go shoot around at the Dean Dome with some Tarheels.  It is pretty cool when Luke May is the ref, I don't care how old you are.

The sky parted right in time for the Spring Football Game! Tarheels won. :)

Goooo Tahh Heeelllsss!

Now that she is 2 she thinks she can do everything like everyone and enjoys raisin bran while standing in a chair and getting milk everywhere.  Exactly like her brothers but cuter outfits.

Some things change, some things stay the same.  Birthday boy request.  An afternoon at Dave & Busters.  Help me.

UNC tagged along, teaching his girls some nice sweet games.

Same girl, same.

And a happy, happy day to our #1!!  We celebrated these birthday buddies all weekend long.

TWO!!

Our favorite girl is 2! She is practically perfect in every single way.  We love you, Winnie Louise.  Let's keep on celebrating.

bridge run!

Twelve years ago, my most favorite guy ever ran the Cooper River Bridge run in Charleston with me, with a diamond ring tied to his shorts!  This past weekend we were back.  I wish I could say the run wasn't that bad, but that would be a lie.  You should train for a 10k, it's not like 'riding a bike.'  We ran that bridge in 1:03 and I was pretty pumped about it.  And then we ate and drank and napped and ate and drank some more and rainy weather and all it was perfect.  Next time you go, I got 3 delicious recommendations for you (although I have never had a bad meal in chucktown) - The  Establishment, Chez Nous, Fleet Landing.

Made it!
Grand-daddy found this throw back for us.  Only 12 years ago, but no camera phones, so not many pictures. Look at those acrylic nails.

Thanks to Tat-tat & Wu for taking care of the handsome savages.  They were supposed to have baseball games all day, but more rain.  They looked good though.

Bless them. I missed them.  But it was nice to be able to think or not think for 48 hours.

love

In just a week she will be 2 years old. TWO!  Does that mean she is officially no longer a baby?  The doctor knew what he was doing when he made sure I had these tubes tied up tight.  I would totally be up for a few more Winnie-girls.  But, she will always be our baby and I think she likes it that way.

PBD

We have been suffering from a little PBD, post basketball depression, over here.  With the help of some sunshine and a Tarheels baseball sweep (against Duke, if you were wondering) we are gonna make it.
Prize wheels extraordinaire.  He helped Charlie the entire baseball game - handing out coupons and cheering on fans.  I think we have a game show host on our hands.

Serious worker.

'It seems like Winnie gets everything she wants.' -Jackson
Yuupppp.
