This Memorial Weekend was different than any other and I welcome the changes with open arms. We had some visitors, my family did some yard and house work, all while I did a lot of baby staring. We went to a quick dinner at Foster's and the little man slept right through it. Happy 1 week old Jackson!

homecoming
I am head over heels in love with this little guy. I was going to do a nice long post but instead spent the morning staring at his every move and coo and ahh and grunt.
We came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon and so far he has done great. Has a nice little sleeping, diapering, feeding, diapering, ditto, schedule. He went to his pediatrician today and had gained some weight since leaving the hospital! (started 8.9, down to 8.2, back up to 8.3 today) She said she could count on one hand the number of babies that this happens to. He likes the good stuff just like his momma and daddy.

nursery
Here are some nursery pictures, I think Jackson is going to be so pleased with what we have done. :)
Bedding - Serena & Lilly - Christmas money splurge, I love it!
Crib & Changing Table - Babies R' Us - sign up for their rewards program, you get some pretty sweet coupons.
Rocker & Ottoman - Walmart - I really wanted a rocker and this was by far the best deal, easy to assemble & comfortable.
Dresser - parents garage with a couple coats of paint
Side table - ditto
Lamp - ditto
Book shelf, coat hanger, sports prints - baby shower presents from Land of Nod
Mirror - good ol Rose's Department Store
Wall clock - found online, trying to remember the site...
Sunshine painting - I got bored one afternoon!

tempting
Looking for something to do tonight? Come and check me out - Miss Morning Sickness! Just kidding, unless of course the prize is really really good. My one question - these people are sober?!

waiting
I hope that next week when they announce the American Idol winner I will be holding my baby boy. Yes, I watch American Idol and I even voted Tuesday night. I mean what if, just what if, Lee DeWyze lost by 1 vote after giving me chill bumps singing Hallelujah. I was all for Crystal until that little number. I also watched re-runs of Modern Family, The Office, 3o Rock, and the NBA Finals - I have never watched so much tv in my life, Charlie is loving it.

swagger wagon
I cleaned out the 4runner and looking forward to hooking up the car-seat and stroller this weekend, just incase something comes up (or down) and I need it. I have always said I won't be a mini-van-drivin mom, but the swagger wagon has got my attention!

full term!
I am now 37 weeks and considered full term. Baby J is the size of a watermelon - a tidbit that I definitly believe. I had a doctor's appointment and the boy has moved his head on down town! The doctor said it is only a matter of time, whatever that means...

happy mother's day!
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. -Rajeesh
Next Mother's Day I will have a little boy crawling/walking (?!!?) around! Hope all the mama's and mom's to be had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mamacita!
HappyHappyBirthday to the best mom ever. If I am half as wonderful as she is then this baby boy will be very lucky. Jackson will be her first grandson and I have already nominated her for numerous #1 Grandma awards. Hopefully we will be able to find a sweet bumper sticker to put on the back of her car.
Yep - she is the one on the left!

party staple
We had a little cook-out for Charlie's dads birthday this weekend. On the menu was pork tenderloin. So easy and always a hit, I highly recommend it for a burger alternative.
Trim tenderloin and cut lengthwise and into quarters. Marinate for 1 - 2 days. Grill 7 minutes per side.
4 tbs soy sauce
1 clove minced garlic
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbs. olive oil
Farris was not so interested in presents, but crawling under the chair with some paper... sooo fun
Sophie = awesome present opener helper

baller
When I graduated high school my sweet youngest sister was only 8 years old. I remember thinking when Natalie graduates I will be old & married, few kids, most likely rich & famous. One out of three - not to shabby.
Natalie & the grandparents to be on senior night
one of my favorite baller gifts she has gotten her nephew...
