homecoming!

We are home!  We came home yesterday, everyone feeling nice and healthy.  Everything went so smooth this time around, one good thing about a scheduled c-section.  The doctor said it was a good decision seeing how big Nash was and how great I had healed from the time before, always a nice reassurance.  I am going to snuggle the afternoon away with this little nugget while I can.  I had already forgotten the sweet smell of a new born.

Great, my doctor said I could go home today. Finally can milk in peace!

1st official family of four photo.

Jackson is not so sure about Nash and is definitely not excited about sharing him with his mama!

Getting fresh for my little brother's arrival.

Nash William

We welcomed our sweet baby boy to the world on Friday.  He came out hollering, a big ol boy with a head full of hair.  I cannot get enough of him!

a friendly reminder...

One of my best friends who just had her second, a beautiful baby girl, emailed me this a while back...
All of these, completely true.  But you also have no idea that you can create something so perfect or that your heart is capable of loving something so much.  Bring it on!

Fat Tuesday

We are taking Mardi Gras to a whole new level over here.  Today is Fat Tuesday and I am going to embrace it.  I am thinking easy pot roast, rice, asparagus and brownie pudding for dinner.  Throw Jackson some beads and he will gladly show you his belly, and my belly and Dada's belly and Greta's belly and your belly.
Almost 39 weeks, yeah I was trying suck it in, yeah I intentionally covered my face, and yeah Jackson was already born at this point...

willy-pop!

Happy Happy Birthday to Jackson's grandad - Willy-daddy? Pops? WILLL (the one Jackson has actually said before)...

It looks as if Jackson was lucky enough to inherit some dance moves from the Winslow side of the family, sorry about that one bud.

7 days...

or less and Jackson will be a big brother!  Yep, next week at this time I will be holding a little baby boy, our family of 3 will be 4, and I won't have heartburn!  This pregnancy really did sneak up on me!

morning routine

Jackson likes to shave every morning.  He also has to put on deodorant (powder fresh), a dab of face lotion, some chapstick, brush his teeth, clean his ears... and when no one is around dive into a little blush and eyeshadow, apparently it taste delicious!

From Greta

Ya'll, I have some bad news... I think another baby may be coming?!??  Old car seats are being pulled out, diapers and wipes everywhere (ahhh the temptation), I can't go upstairs anymore, I can't bark anymore, I don't go on walks, and the dead giveaway - my mom is huge.  I threw-up all over the floor this morning just thinking about it.

This is a framer for sure, going beside my dog bed... oh the memories

Nursery!

We have a nursery!  It still needs a lot of personal touches but I am sure Nash will be ever so delighted when he sees it...
Coolest entrance sign ever!

Jackson's old changing table and bins, cheap Target frames and "You make me happy when skies are gray" painting to compliment Jackson's "You are my sunshine" painting. That is as crafty as I get.

The cheapest crib we could find from Babies R' Us (sorry 2nd child), Dwell Bedding from Target, and wall name decor from Land of Nod.  If you are squinting is says 'Nash William.'  His dad's first name, grandadS first names, etc. Classic name that you just can't beat.

Jackson's old rocker, lamp and dresser, he goes and sits on it and says dats mine, incase we should forget.  Lanterns from Wolrd Market.

get excited!

We have officially scheduled a c-section for Friday, February 24th.  After much consideration on doing a VBAC we think this is the best choice for the little man and myself.  My anxiety rises a little every single day.  Does this mean I am ready... no... it means I will wait until February 23rd to pack my bags and make sure Charlie takes off a few days from Jersey Mike's.  Jackson has been extra clingy lately, I blame this nasty stomach virus that is still lingering around his diaper, but I also think he knows something is about to rock his world.

By the way... I feel like I have lots to blog about, but then I have lots to get done before I can think of blogging, and then I look at Pinterest for a few hours.  You can do some serious 'nesting' on that site.

Souper Bowls

This weekend did not pan out as I had hoped.  My main man got the stomach bug on Thursday and passed it on to his mama & da on Friday.  I have really never gotten so sick in my life, I will spare you the details.  Luckily it got the best of Charlie and I and only lasted about 24 hours.  Most importantly my parents came and got Jackson so we could do some serious resting up and house cloroxing.  My plans of a bridal shower brunch, oyster roast and  Super Bowl party went down the drain, literally.  Thanks to my stylish friend I even had something to wear.  At 37 weeks it is tough to dress in anything but sweatpants and a t-shirt - the second closest thing - leggings, a flowy shirt and cowboy boots.  Alas I am in sweatpants and about to take down some chicken noodle soup.  Wish us luck and wash those hands people.

cravings

Say it ain't so.  I have been informed that the Krispy Kreme Challenge is tomorrow!  This is what pregnant ladies dreams are made of.  The only 'random' craving I have had is donuts.  And really I always crave a donut, but I just don't give in every single time.  They have fresh bakery ones at Harris Teeter and Target, where I frequent almost every day.  And if not, Dunkin Donuts has a drive-threw.  While Jackson snoozes I take in the peace and quiet, some decaf coffee and a donut or two.  Don't make me do it...

speaking of...

Jackson, Charlie and Uncle Clint went to a reception celebrating UNC's signing day last night.  Charlie came home all pumped up about the new coach and next years football team.  (Can we just beat NC State... please)  He said Jackson ran around barefoot and ate 3 plates of baked beans.  I hate I had to miss it.
Ahmm, get away from me, I still support Butch.

dadadada

Don't get me wrong, Jackson is a mama's boy in every way possible.  If he needs something he comes to me, if he gets hurt he wants me, at bed time he wants me, etc, etc.  But he is quickly turning into a little boy that likes to do stuff with his day.  As soon as Charlie pulls into the driveway from work Jackson runs to the door yelling 'DA.'    This is their time together.  Dads do way cooler stuff than moms could ever do.  Just last night they were both running around naked upstairs.  Really? I asked.  Charlie reminded me at least only one of them still pees on the floor.

One great thing about my dad is he is always up for a late night snack attack.  Chips, salsa, milk and football... oh yeah

Another great thing is he let's me drive around the block when he gets home from work... hey ladies, sorry we're taken!
