stat time

We had a combined 4 month / 2 year doctor's appointment yesterday for the boys.  They were both very well behaved.  I go in expecting the worst and they prove me wrong everytime.  (I am pretty sure I just jinxed myself by typing that.)  Jackson showed off to the doctor by thinking of all the things he could say and shouting them plus some doctor jibberish that I guess she only understood.  Nash did not want to be overshadowed so rolled over continuously on the check-up table.  It reminded me of the Pepsi Next commericial, well played Pepsi marketing, well played.

4 months

I can't believe Nash is 4 months old but I also can't believe he has only been in our family for 4 months!  I cannot imagine not toting him around everywhere.  He is really paying attention to everything around him.  He loves watching his brother entertain him, laying on his 'play mat,' helping me around the house in his Bjorn, napping in his carrier with the vent blaring in the bathroom, and long walks on the beach...

This boy cannot resist smiling at his mama and boy do I soak it up...

Wait a minute mom, what about me?!

nieces!

Meet Olivia & Betsy, in no particular order, because frankly I have no idea who is who.  All I know is that they are the sweetest little snuggle bugs and that their Aunt Rebekah plans on buying them lots of cute matching girl stuff.  I needed some baby girls in my life!  Baby girls that I can hand back to their parents at bedtime, good luck Aunty Em and Uncle Juicy!

rollin'

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' on a River...  Nash rolled from his back to belly yesterday, pretty cool.  After he did it once, he just kept going for it, very cool.  Then I realized he can no longer chill on my bed, the couch, his nap nanny, etc., not cool.  I can't even control one mobile kid what shall I do with two?
Uhh hello there...

#1 fan

Charlie is not only Jackson's dad, but his hero.  I read that you should marry the man you want your son to grow up to be.  I can only hope that Jackson & Nash inherit their dad's hard work ethic, his kind soul, his contagious smile, and overall zest for life.  I don't need a special Father's Day to say it, but thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for all that you do for us.  We are your #1 fans.

I think a line drive to left field is gonna be your best hit, this pitcher has a mean under-hand toss.

Let's go DaDa & Mike's!

Happy Father's Day to the best 'Dada' in the world!

cheese-a-roni!

I cannot stop kissing these cheeks and lips!  Is anyone else addicted to the smell of your babies breath?    And I am sure Nash just loves the smell of mine over a cup of coffee in the morning.

summer 'camp'

Remember that nervous knot you used to get in your stomach on the first day of school or right before a big race or a speech in class?  The one that goes away the minute you actually start doing it.  I had almost forgotten that feeling.  Well it came back to me on Jackson's first day of 'summer camp.'  I was anxious, I have no idea why.  I wonder if I will get that feeling every time one of my boys starts something new.  I guess it is that motherly instinct, to want to always be there and always protect your child.
His 'camp' is 2 days a week from 9-12:30 and is right around the corner from our house.    He walked in on the first day and gave a little 'mama' whimper.  It took him approximately 20 seconds after that to find a dump truck to push around the room and he never looked back.
The best part about it (besides the fact that I got over 3 whole hours with only one sleeping baby!?!!), when we picked him up he ran over and gave Nash a serious kiss.  I asked if I could have one too, he gave me a cheese of a grin and squealed 'noooooooo.'  My little boy is growing up, I guess it is time for his mama to grow up too.

'Reading' to Nash, clearly something way more exciting is on the tv...

visitors!

Nash just found out his Aunt Sarah is coming all the way from California tomorrow!  You could say he is pretty pumped, at least for a 3 month old.

swim lessons

Jackson is taking swim lessons at our little neighborhood pool this week.  I was not sure that he would participate, but so far so good, when we actually get there.  The pool is literally a 2 minute walk from our house but with mister 'i wan do it' it takes us a good hour to get ready and get there.  He likes to put on his bathing suit, shoes, sunscreen, then decides he needs to go pee-pee, then he needs a snack, then he wants his 'mikes hat' then his 'tawheels hat' then we have to find his shades, then he decides he would rather play ball instead, by this point Nash is ready to eat again.  But I have to agree, he does look pretty studly once he finally gets it all together.  He has lots of ladies to impress!

ball game

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some
peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.

For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.

I love everything about a baseball game.  This little guy has been a good sport (i couldn't help myself) every single time.  I see lots of 'BALL' in his future too.  Better luck next year Tar Heels!

motivate

I did it.  I went for a run.  A very short run, but a run.  It felt good, painfully good.  I had no more excuses not to do it.  I got some new Nike's, a big supportive sports bra, running shorts, comfy shirt, and some earphones to hook up to my IPhone.  I downloaded Pandora and typed in Black Eye Peas, they never let me down.  I downed a glass of water and 2 cups of coffee.  Charlie was going in to work late and would hang with the boys. I contemplated about not going or just walking or just doing some stretching or just being fat for the rest of my life.  Then the sun peaked through the clouds meaning we were going to the pool today meaning summer is here and I was gonna have to run.
I used to run at least 5 miles a day.  I ran 2 marathons for crying out loud.  So here I am professing to the Internet to keep me accountable.  The time has come to lose the weight and get in shape.  I am even going to tuck my pregnancy jeans away (yes I still wear them, they are too comfy).  Let's do this.
