photos
I have very few pictures with my boys. It is my own fault. My greasy pulled back hair, gym shorts and milk stained t-shirt, chunky belly and dark-circle eyes are nothing that I want commemorated. But my dearest friend snuck this shot of us on Saturday in our backyard after Jackson's birthday party. It makes me smile.

favorites
I got this idea from pinterest and I hope to do something like it every year. Maybe one day I will even print them all out and make a little booklet for the boys...
Jackson's 2 year old Favorites
TV Show - Super Why
Song - Sea Tunes, the whole CD!
Foods - spaghetti, oatmeal (rice is what he calls it), yogurt, chicken nuggets
Candy - mints (really he always request 'mint peaseeee' when we are in the car)
Toy - cars, balls, his tent, new bike, kitchen set and train table
Book - Go Dog Go!
Activity - Bat & Ball (baseball in the backyard)
Very patient birthday boy, he even waited fo us to sing and blow out the candles, I was impressed.
Everything I wished for and more, my very own cake!

3 months
It was a little over 3 months ago that my sweet Nash William Farris was born. I have already forgotten what life was like with just one. It is true what they say, two is better than one. Nash is one chill dude. He goes with the flow, listening to his brother hoot and holler in the morning, sleeping in his car seat most afternoons, flashing sweet smiles, putting up with slobbery kisses and doing some serious 'cooing' to anyone that would like to listen. Most importantly (I hesitate to even type this) he slept from 10pm - 7am the past two nights! Now if we could just get his big brother to do the same then we would be all set.

2!
Happy 2nd Birthday to the man, the myth, the legend... my sweetest, goofiest, studliest goober Jackson Arthur Farris! May all your wishes come true today and everyday. We love you! Let's Party!

thumb sucker
Someone has been watching their big brother. Looks like we have another thumb sucker! I may take this back when they are in middle school and we are paying for some sweet head gear, but for now, whatever works is fine by me.

grocery store
I was one of those people who loved going to the grocery store. Taking my time going down each aisle, back-tracking for the good samples, buying things I didn't need because I had a coupon, planning out my dinners for the week, the things you do before babies. Now it is more like an event. The timing must be perfect, treats must be on hand, the aisles must be clear, the cashiers better be fast and we stick with the basics - spagetti-o's, yogurt, milk, oreos, wine and apples for good measure. Today went smoothly. Call me a bad mom but I opened the oreos before we payed and Jackson and I tried a few. Nash slept most of the time and when he was awake Jackson helped drowned him out. As we pulled out of the parking lot a man flagged me down with the milk I had left under the cart, score!
Mama, I got a doo-doo mama, it's big, mama... (great timing as always)

brothers
Charlie and I both come from a family of 4 children; 3 girls and 1 boy. We know about sisters, brothers not so much. I already love watching these 2 boys interact. Nash puts a big smile on his face when he hears Jackson's voice. (He also puts on a big sad face when he pounces to close to his head or literally yells in his ear...) Jackson always wants to know 'where da bebe, i wan hold nasth, wook nasth, wook baby, mama get baby wook.' It is cute and scary all at the same time. I love watching them grow together and pray that they will be the best of friends who always adore one another and obey their mom. I can dream too.

blogger
I am becoming a bad blogger and I am not happy about it. I love this blog, mainly because these boys have no sort of baby book, much less a photo album. This is my scrapbook for them and myself. Every single day there are things that I want to write down and remember but by the time they are both asleep all I really want to do is have some ice cream and and dive in to a good book (watch The Bachelorette and Dancing With the Stars). Jackson's days are filled with playing ball and collecting rocks outside, watching Super Why and having snacks. Mine are filled with making lists of things that need to be done but won't be... Nash's, thankfully, are filled being toted around with a constant smile on his face. In fact he is strapped down in all of his pictures and yes I plan to keep it that way for as long as possible.

Mother's Day
You can never truly appreciate your own mother until you are a mother yourself. You can never know a mother's overwhelming love for her children until you have children yourself. I have loved and learned more in the past 2 years than in my entire life. I am so thankful to have a wonderful mom to experience all of this with. Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms and moms to be out there. Keep up the good work.
We should probably try and take our Mother's Day picture before 10pm next year.

growing!
Nash is sporting a 'vintage' Nike onesie, once worn by his big brother. I prefer the term vintage over hand-me-down. This little one is growing as fast as the grass in our yard (ahem...), out of control!

dress code
Jackson has taken a strong interest in to what he is wearing these days. Every shirt he puts on and I mean every single shirt must have a BALL on it. Yesterday we did not go to the park because he insisted on wearing his 'big ball' shirt. I explained it was dirty and we had to wash it. So he obviously put it in the washing machine and claimed it was 'wet.' I took advantage, did some laundry and he patiently waited all morning for it, walking around in pumpkin socks, tennis shoes and a diaper. You can't mess with this boys style.
I am sooo mad my mom made me dress like my little brother and will not smile. Right when we get home from church I am putting on my ball shirt!

strawberries!
We headed to Waller Farms yesterday to do some strawberry picking. Jackson collected rocks and mimicked the cows by getting on all fours and eating the grass, what a smart boy. Nash snoozed under the barn with Ms. Waller, also a smart boy. But Charlie and I got lots of delicious strawberries. Nothing goes with strawberries like pound cake, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and a cup of coffee, so that is what I had for breakfast. I am thinking about spinach strawberry salad for lunch with a glass of strawberry champagne. Tis the season! Send any recipes my way.
Found the perfect one!
Dad, I wan wocks.

night-night
Speaking of bed time, Jackson is still in his crib. I see no reason to move him to a bed until he starts climbing out of his crib. I am sure he is capable of doing this, he just doesn't know it yet. What he can do is climb into 'da bebe's' crib. Poor Nash, he is safe no where.
