Taz

I say it at least once a day, 'Thank goodness you are so dang cute Nash.'  The little guy is the definition of the Looney Tunes character, Tasmanian Devil.  You think I am joking because yes he does have his sweet moments, but I dare you to let him hang out in your house for one day.  When he leaves you will need to call the cleaners and you will have a migraine.  I don't know where he gets it from.  The boy's doctor asked who's personality each of them has.  I know Jackson is his father's personality but Nash I was not sure.  Later on Charlie said Nash and I were very similar.  I threw the laundry basket down the stairs, hollered out yeah right, stormed to our bedroom and slammed the door.  Really, I don't know where he gets it from.

As the youngest of the Looney Tunes characters, the Tasmanian Devil, or 'Taz' as he has come to be known, is generally portrayed as a ferocious albeit dim-witted omnivore with a notoriously short temper and little patience. He will eat anything and everything, with an appetite that seems to know no bounds. He is best known for his speech consisting mostly of grunts, growls and rasps, and his ability to spin like a vortex and bite through just about anything.

It's a GIRL!

My brother and sister-in-law just found out they are having a sweet baby GIRL!  If the 'Gender Reveal Party' is any indication for parties to come then this little girl has it made. It was so much fun. Jackson's guess was a boy.  'A boy that is big like me and maybe we can play baseball after the party.'  He was a little confused all around wondering where they baby was, how she was getting out, how she got in there, was it really dark, when the doctor was coming over to get her out, and did he have to use some loud tools.  I told him we have to wait till Christmas and left it at that...

The big reveal... mama Brittni was right, get used to it Clint.
Side note - please take note of my grandma Chally's face in the background, I think she was excited too.

The first cake piece goes to the ever so patient Jackson, he approved.

Cccaaakkkeee.  Nash's new word.  What would you like for breakfast? CAAKKEEE?!?

smile

I love hanging out with my little boys, but nothing beats hanging with this boy.  Lucky for us our families live all of an hour away and love to hang out with Jackson and Nash anytime.  You can't get any better than a date night.  And 'Sleepovers' for them means actual sleep for us.  Thanks Baby-sitters Club!

Topsail

I grew up going to Topsail beach with my greatest friend and her family and cherish lots of great memories hanging out on her dock and going jet skiing.  (note: I will never let my kids go on a jet ski, sorry)  So when she asked if we wanted to hit the beach this past weekend with some friends and all our babes I was pumped.  We had a great time.  I wouldn't say it was as care-free and as relaxing as the last time I went down there but I am excited to do it again in the years to come.  Hint, hint, hint...

Attempted group shot #37
(Van 3 1/2, Jean-Margaret 16 months, Jackson 3, Nash 16 months, Sam 22 months)

Loves the beach as long as the waves aren't too big and mom or dad are close by.

Loves playing on the sand dunes by himself with no one around.

Let's give it another shot, hmm maybe next year.

First kayak trip with dad, both of them loved it.

Thanks Mama May for letting me steal your pictures.  It might be time to invest in a camera besides the Iphone.

cousins

Is there anything cooler than playing with your cousins when you are young?  They are like permanent best friends forever but you can always go home when you start getting on each others nerves.  Not that these two guys would ever get on each others nerves.  Farris and Jackson are just 8 months apart and I am pumped to watch them grow up together.  So far they have been pretty inseparable.

Strong dudes.

Snuggle monkeys.

Book nerds.

Beach babes.

TV heads.

parenting

Now here is a new parenting method that I can deal with The CTFD Method.  I consider myself a pretty chill person, but when it comes to my kids not so much.  I worry about them a lot.  Did they eat anything healthy today?  Did they watch too much tv?  Did they nap at all?  Did I love the ever living crap out of them...yes.  I may not be a perfect parent but I am perfect for them and they are perfect for me.  How awesome it is that God blessed us with these tiny people to take care of and love.  So, for a good Friday morning read, check this out and lets all CTFD this weekend.

Their daily quiet reading time.  I wish...

boys will be boys?

Yesterday at the pool we met some new neighbors.  Like almost every single conversation in our house, it went something like this...

Me - Yes and this is my husband Charlie and our 2 boys Jackson and Nash.
Jackson - Hey Daadddd!!
Charlie - Yeah Jackson
Jackson - Is your weenie in your bathing suit?
Charlie - Yes.  Yes it is.
Me - Sooo where are you guys from?

beach trip

We headed to Atlantic Beach this week with the entire Farris family for some serious fun in the sun.  Our days went something like this; wake up too early eat something delightful Grandmama made, head out to the beach, carry Nash in from the beach as he fell asleep on your shoulder, eat some lunch, rest a little, head back to the beach, come in for something delightful that Grandmama made for dinner attempt to get kids to bed before falling asleep yourself.  Repeat.  We would be up for doing it again next week if anyone was wondering.

Happy Happy Birthday Grandmama! Cake!

Busy day filling up pools with water, catching fish, chasing seagulls, building sandcastles and eating snacks...

Busy day putting sand on everyone, wondering off into the sand dunes and eating snacks...

Beach love.

Mom, there is 2 of them!

Working on the fish pond.  RIP fishy-fishies...

And he's out.

A good summer beach read.

Look mom it's Oscar from our pond!

dancing fool

Getting the party started!
Jackson dances like his mama.  Some like to call it the 'Winslow shuffle.'  Sorry about that bud.

tan line

Check out that sandles tan line.  Nash likes to wear his 'sooeeess' every where he goes.  Including at the pool in the water.  I think it is cute in a redneck kinda way.

Barbershop

We are heading to the beach this week to celebrate Grand mama's 30th birthday!  In preparation the boys headed to The Barbershop yesterday for some trim ups.  Charlie asked if Nash even got his cut and yes they cut a lot! I am not ready to chop off all those curls just yet.  Nash wasn't the biggest fan until he realized you got peanuts and suckers and could watch some TV.  Jackson loves every minute of it.  He hops right up in the chair, chats it up with the barber and checks himself out in the mirror.  He gets it from is mama.
Don't do it!

Keeping it real with what I like to call a baby mullet.

Oh yeah trim up those Lloyd Christmas bangs.

THE MASSAGE! Ahhhh...

Hey dude, you get a sucker when you are done!!

celebrations

What a fun and beautiful day we had to celebrate America! Finally no rain!  Our neighborhood has a kids parade and party at the park in the morning.  Think firetruck, USA tattoos, watermelon, cupcakes and a bouncy house.  What more can a little boy ask for?  Then Jackson had swimming lessons and we hung out at the pool for a while.  That evening we headed over to the neighbors for a little cookout and some fireworks.  Yeah the fireworks did not go over so well for Nash.  Maybe next year. Cheers to July and all the sweat and sweets (I made these for the cookout both delightful Spinach Strawberry Salad & Patriotic Oreo Pops) that come along with it!

Getting all geared up for the parade.

TTTRUUUCK!

Your gonna want to go that way... Be careful workers!

Hope you weren't planning on driving down our parkway this morning. Go USA!

Guest appearance from Spiderman, naturally.  Can't get much more American than Spiderman.

So your telling me we are about to watch things blow up that are really loud and I am supposed to just sit here?

HAPPY 4TH!

Thank-you to all those that sacrifice every single day for my families freedom.  God bless you and this amazing country.  Words cannot express my gratitude... This song does a pretty good job though, I'm proud to be an American!

swish

Jackson is taking shirts vs. skins to a whole new level.  The boy will not keep his clothes on.  It is summer time and it is pretty hot out there and I am tired of putting them back on.  Nothing but net...
Hiney-Ho Neighbor!
