First 'bath'

Theo didn't cry one bit during his first bath with mom.  In fact he said 'it is about time mom!'  Usually bath time is with dad but I figured I should man up.  Three boys at bath time might be a little much right now. As soon as they can all squeeze in the bath it is back to boys time!

Ahmm are you really taking a picture right now?

Now that felt pretty good!

Good Mornings...

Morning time has surprisingly been my favorite time of day with all these boys.  They are not in pre-school and Charlie has been on 'paternity leave' so we are in no rush to do anything besides play baseball.  Everyone loves to get in their Theo good morning loves.  For that 10 minutes all is well in the Farris household.

All my loves!

He's 4!

My main man Jackson is officially 4 years old!  He was the whole reason I started this little blog 4  years ago.  The days may be long but the years are flying by.  Jackson is a lover of life.  If we all saw things through his eyes the world would be a better place.  I pray he keeps his joy, his funny sense of humor, his genuine care of others and his thankfulness as he grows older.  He can drop the whining any time, but I know where he gets it from.  ;)
Biggest Brother!

'Today has been a really great birthday mom.' Melt my heart, every single time.

Cake #3, you can never have too much cake.

Big Bros

Jackson and Nash have taken on big brotherhood like champs!  They have been dragged around a lot these past few days and loved every minute of it.  They are super lucky to be surrounded by lots of family to play with while we were at the hospital and getting settled in.  I am a super lucky mom!

Chillin at the park with Grandmama.

Patiently waiting for Baby Theo's arrival with our cousins.

Working on some stuff at the museum.  Safety first!

The Fabulous Farris Brothers jumping routine!

Watching the construction workers.  BIGGGG truck.

The kings relaxing on Grandmama and Grand-daddy's bed with our big cousin Farris.

Stories

Ya'll won't believe what happened to me this week.

I was just getting all comfy cozy in my mom's belly.  Eating, working on my tan and growing out my locks.

And then BAM!  This guy is cutting into my castle and straight up grabbed me out by the neck.  Talk about startled.  I looked like a crazy haired chunky little mad scientist.

After that, I was hungry.  You ever heard of such a thing?

The Hospital

We had a pretty smooth labor and delivery at Duke Regional Hospital.  The same doctor that did my c-section for Jackson and Nash also did it for Theo, which rarely ever happens.  We headed in early Monday morning for the surgery.  Much to my surprise Theo was not early like his brothers.  It makes me wonder how long he could have actually stayed in and how big and hairy he could have gotten! Everything went smoothly besides a little mishap with my spinal tap and blood pressure.  Talk about a major headache.  I didn't notice any of the surgery going on since my head was about to explode the whole time, so we will say it was a good thing...  Right at 8:29 the doctor pulled out a long, screaming, peeing baby and my heart was full.  Charlie got some awesome pictures that I won't post on here but it is amazing that this boy came out of my stomach!  The doctor said everything looked good but my uterus lining was very thin and I could not have done a v-back.  He sewed it extra tight (like my medical terminology?) and said if I decided to have another child I could but would have to be very careful and have an early c-section.  This may be a sign from God that 3 boys will be plenty for this mama to handle.  We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and Theo was great the whole time.  As in, he slept, cried, ate, peed, 'soiled' and repeat.  He also got in a lot of good cuddling time from his mama and family.  Theo is going to fit in just perfectly.

Some good mama loving.

Nope, not opening my eyes, not gonna do it.

Big Brother Jackson is an awesome baby holder, he likes to limit his time to about 20 seconds.

Big brother Nash is also an excellent baby holder, but an even better pointer of all things worthy of squishing in.

Yep, he has all his facial features and lots of HAIR, Jackson's favorite part!

Our first family of FIVE picture.

Whew, this place is LOUD.

Introducing...

Theodore Joseph Farris
May 19, 2014 at 8:29am
9 lbs. 4 oz., 21 3/4 in.

The most beautiful little boy came into our family Monday morning at 8:29am.  He is perfect.  He is named after his great-great grandfathers Theodore, meaning 'gift of god' and Joseph, meaning 'he will add.'  We will call him Theo, or Pineapple Tree for short.  We are all so in love with this little guy.  Many more pictures to come.

Bedrooms!

Sneak peak!  Someone's nursery looks a lot like their older brother's nursery.  I ran out of cute ideas for boys and we like to keep it simple around here.

Guess the name on the wall?!  We think…

Big bros room!

Hannah's Here!!

Cousin Hannah and her parents have been visiting from California!  They are even staying to meet their new cousin.  The boys were a little surprised that 'BABY Hannah' is no longer a baby.  Jackson still likes to help her and make sure she does not get things she should not have.  Nash has taken it upon himself to boss her around  and make sure he tells her 'no Hannah' whenever necessary.  I think he is going to like being the 'big' bro.

Helping Hannah safely cross the street.

Cuties!

Baby Brooklyn Baptism

It was a truly special Mother's Day as our sweet cousin 'Baby Brooklyn' was baptized!  Lucky for us she lives right down the road and we get to see her lots.  Lucky for everyone our whole family was able to be there for this special day.  Baby Brooklyn is rocking the same Baptism gown that her dad, my sisters and I wore and her great grandmother Nana made.  She is the first baby small enough to be able to wear it.
Look mom, Baby Brooklyn is here!

Winslow, Farris, Fowler family group shot!  Coming next week…another baby!

Happy Mother's Day!

“Her children rise up and call her blessed..." - Proverbs 31:28

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mamas out there.  I am one lucky lady to have the best mom to learn from and the best boys to keep me straight.  I have been blessed!

Proud Sisters

We had two sister graduations yesterday!  I am so proud of them both, wish I could be more like them, and super excited my boys have such awesome aunts to look up to in life!  They both rock and if they can't find a job I have got a few things lined up for them this summer. ;)

Aunt Sarah graduated from Campbell LAW SCHOOL, yep you heard that right.  Hopefully these boys will go to her for future advice and not need any actual help, right, right.  No sneaky legal cover-ups, I will find out.

Aunt Natalie graduated from UNCW undergrad and got a degree in Elementary Education.  I think she should move up here and teach her nephews, just saying.  (I spot some baby bellies and a Hannah!)

baseball

Baseball season is in full force around here.  We like to 'play' it in the backyard.  Jackson's favorite part is taking rests in the dug out and Nash's favorite part is making sure his stance is correct and you are in the correct spot.  Every now and then someone will actually hit the ball and run the bases. We like to watch it on TV.  Thanks MLB network, who knew you could keep my 2 year old occupied for a whole 30 minutes.  And we love to go to  some games!  Our favorite spot is the old Durham Athletic Park.  Aunt Nat's boyfriend plays for the NCCU Eagles and all their home games are there.  They are free, you can bring in food, and run around wherever you would like.  A win-win for all.  Let's go Braves, Tarheels, Eagles, Bulls, Tobs and the Blue team!  Our current favorites.

Getting 'fast!'

Seriously he doesn't miss a beat.

Backyard ball at its best.

whew

2 weeks!  Although I am uncomfortable as can be, I will take every single bit of that 2 weeks that I can.      We had a little action yesterday morning and had to call in dad from his super busy opening weekend of Jersey Mike's for some back-up help.  When he got home I passed out for a good hour and then felt a lot better.  I think baby boy was just telling me it is time to slow down and stop eating my weight in food.  Easier said than done.  We celebrated grand-daddy's birthday at Hayes Barton Cafe (hello cakes) on Friday and had a Farris family reunion on Saturday (hello Lebanese food) and visited my parents new house Sunday afternoon (hello French Silk Pie Blizzard).  I got a big ol' pumpkin growing in there!  He has some big brothers to catch up with.

'Resting' with mom… So comfy.

MAY!

Holy hey, it's May!  We have a big month ahead of us.  Some graduations, family reunions, birthdays, parties, visitors, a new store AND I will have a baby AND my little boys will be big brothers?!  Whew.  My mom sent me this article, The Truth About Having a Third Child.   So far it is right on point.  I am about to be one blessed crazy mama!  Don't say I didn't warn you.

Calling in back up.  Nine months pregnant. Do they sleep? Where is dad? Jesus saves. Right?
